U.S. Navy Veteran Retired From Provident And Was Active Volunteer

Dr. James K. Goodlad, MD, 96, of Hixson, passed away on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021.
He was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine. Ken served our country in the United States Navy as a Seabee serving during the Pacific Theater. He has been a resident of the Chattanooga area since 1972. Ken retired from Provident with over 18 years of service. He attended Hixson United Methodist Church. Ken volunteered at Erlanger Medical Library and with the Chattanooga Aquarium.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Juanita “Nita” Boyd Goodlad.
Dr. Ken is survived by his children, James Kenneth Goodlad, Jr. and wife Cheryl and Nancy G. Beckett; grandchildren, Gunner (Laryssa) Goodlad, Shelby (Robert) Coates, Christopher (Susanne) Beckett and Katie Beckett; great grandson, Liam.
There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
