Thomas A. Grossman Obituary

Thomas A. Grossman, 87, of Sidney, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1930, in Butler County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lewis and Sarah (Forsythe) Grossman.

On July 16, 1982 he married Carolyn Spangler, who survives him along with four children, Thomas D. (Gereldine) Grossman, Timothy L. (Nancy) Grossman, Karen S. (Joseph) Burgoon and Lucinda M. (Donald) Wilson; four stepchildren, Larry (Lisa) Schroer, Steven Schroer, Kathleen Lambert and Mark Schroer, six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two siblings, Velma Fenrick and Jerry L. Grossman.

He was preceded in death by eleven siblings, and one step-son.

Mr. Grossman was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Master Mason and Shriner. He belonged to the Sidney American Legion Post 217 and was a member of Sidney Gateway High 12. Thomas was retired from Zurn Industries, where he served as a construction superintendent and consultant.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Donald Spangler officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Sidney American Legion will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 12:45 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the United Church of the Nazarene in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
