Final Salute

Willie Nathan Orr, Sr., age 85 of Long Beach, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elisabeth Orr; children, Willie Nathan Orr, Jr. (Janice) and Richard Lee Orr (Debbie); grandchildren, Melissa, Racheal, Richard (mother of his first three grandchildren, Nancy), Christopher, and Corey; great grandchildren, Tatum, Hannah, Jonah, Kylie, Nolan, and Kristina; and great-great grandchild, Ayla.

Willie was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. He served in the US Army from 1952 until 1962 and received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant. He served in the Navy from 1974 until 1991, and retired with honors as a Senior Master Chief. Willie was a Union journeyman carpenter in Long Island, NY from 1962 until 1974. He worked as a construction superintendent for several local construction firms from 1991 until 2016. Willie was a master builder. He loved restoring classic cars, Cruisin’ the Coast, and family gatherings.

His favorite phrase was, “don’t worry about things you can’t change.”

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 3, 2023, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
