Brady – Evans John Adkins, III, age 71 of Smithville, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his residence. Evans was born November 28, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Evans J. Adkins, Jr. and Frankye (Jolly) Adkins. Evans was a career military man, serving 27 years in the US Navy, retiring at the rank of Master Chief. He served in Vietnam and Iraq and was a proud member of the Navy Seabees.
Services for Evans J. Adkins, III will be at 2:00pm, April 10, 2021 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Regina Maas officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Brady. Friends may view and/or sign Evans J. Adkins, III online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Everyone is requested to wear face masks coverings during all services.
Evans is survived by his daughter Justin Ann Adkins-Taylor and husband Robert of Smithville, Texas and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
