Roger D. Crain, 81, of Clay, passed away Sept. 23, 2023. Roger was born in Clay, NY on August 22, 1942 to Marvin and Viola Crain. Roger retired from the Town of Clay Highway Dept. and served in the US Navy as a Seabee in the Vietnam War. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, gardening and his John Deere tractor. Roger was a life member of VFW Post 951, American Legion Post 787, DAV Chapter 30, Northeast Vietnam Veterans and a life member of Clay Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his Parents; and Sister, Marleah Kuhn. He is survived by his Wife of 27 years, Sandra (Cain) Crain; Two Daughters, Christine Crain, Michelle Crain; Step-Son, Bill McKee; Step-Daughter, Julie McKee; Brother, Michael (Peggy) Crain; Brother-In-Law, Robert Kuhn; and Nieces and Nephews. Family and friends may call on Sun., Oct. 1, 2023 from 1pm-4pm at New Comer, N. Syr., 705 N. Main St, Syr., where funeral services will be held Sun. at 4:00 pm. Interment at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center.
