Oxnard – 77, Oxnard, California, son of John and Josephine Seft Laszik turned over the watch to his Heavenly Father on April 29, 2021.

John is survived by his beloved wife Edith “Edie” Laszik, his sons Donald Dewey Laszik, Michael Sean Laszik, his daughter Jackie Lynn Calderon, his grandchildren Tommy, Brandon, April, Steven, Zachary, and Naomi, great-grandchildren Skylar, Haydon, Paige, Hannah Marie, Aurora Rose, Cedar, and Asher, and John’s sister Patricia Perillo.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Josephine Laszik, his brother Robert Laszik, his daughter Shelly Ann Laszik, and his grandson Frankie Sinsun.

Equipmentman Master Chief (EQCM) John Laszik retired in 1992, after 32 years of Active-Duty Service. John Laszik was a proud U.S. Navy Seabee, with several stateside and overseas assignments including deployments with Naval Mobile Construction Battalions NMCB-FIVE, NMCB-THREE, rising to Command Master Chief at NMCB-FORTY at Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, California.

After two years in Commercial Industry, John Laszik served 26 years in Federal Civil Service as an Equipment Specialist, Program Manager and Product Analyst, and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Expeditionary Programs Office (ExPO) at Port Hueneme, CA. With 60 continuous years in the Construction Equipment business, John Laszik was considered The Subject Matter Expert knowledgeable in all facets of Equipment Management.

John Laszik died as he had lived, in devotion and service to his beloved country, and to the Navy Seabees, and was on official government travel in St. Louis, Missouri at the time of his passing. John leaves many Seabee brothers and sisters, friends and family, and co-workers to mourn his death, remembering countless deployments and homeports together.

A viewing will be held on 26 May 2021, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 N A St, Oxnard, CA 93030.

The funeral Service will be held on 27 May 2021 at 11:00 am at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 N A St, Oxnard, CA 93030.

Interment will be held on 27 May 2021 at 12:30 pm at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012.

Funeral Reception 1400 to 1600, VFW Post 3935, 300 South Surfside Dr, Port Hueneme, CA 93041.
