Final Salute

Oxnard – Joseph Andrew Paris, 54, passed away suddenly late Thursday, May 27, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital, in Oxnard.

Joe was born on June 8, 1966, in Philadelphia, PA to Paul and Joan Paris. He was the youngest of three children following his older brother Paul and sister Debbie.

He joined the Navy as U.S. Seabee in 1984 and spent the next 20 years perfecting his craft as a construction mechanic. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. Joe always talked of the brotherhood and friendship he had with his fellow Seabees and how rare and valuable it was to him. He retired from the Navy as a highly respected Construction Mechanic Chief after 20 years but continued to serve the Navy as a civilian. Joe continued working and spent the last 12 years as the Director of the Construction Equipment Division (CED) at Port Hueneme. There he mentored and encouraged all of his employees and coworkers to succeed by leading with a strong, dedicated work ethic. He thrived on being able to provide a great environment for good quality work that he and everyone there could be proud of. Joe received many military and civilian awards and decorations. He inhibited the Seabee’s “Can do” spirit and encouraged those around him to do so as well.

His most cherished time was spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and being in the outdoors. Joe loved working on projects and passing on his know how to anyone who wanted to learn. He was an avid sports fan and was often found watching any game he could find. Joe was a family man at heart and it is what he prided himself most on.

Joe was a wonderful man survived by his fiancée, Claire Jean, whom he loved very much. They dreamed of retiring and touring the country together. He is also survived by his two daughters, Tiffany Ramos-Williamson and Kristina Paris. He was the most dedicated and loving father. He often said being a dad was the best role he ever had. Joe was also the best Grandpa to James Ramos and Jessie Williamson. They were his pride and joy. He impacted so many people and leaves behind a wide following of love and admiration. He is deeply missed, loved and adored.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021, 10:00 am, at Chapel of the Hills-Conejo Mountain Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA.

A Mass of Special Intention will be said for Joe at Santa Clara Church, in Oxnard on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 8am.
