Clarence Kendall Wyatt, Jr., 84, of Newberry, SC. passed away October 25, 2023. Born January 29, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Clarence Wyatt Sr. and Catherine Dohler Wyatt.
”Ken”, as he was called, was a U.S. Navy veteran. He joined at the age of 17 and served four years on the Coral Sea and Midway aircraft carriers. Later he served two more years in the Sea Bees during the Vietnam War. He became a preacher in 1979 for the Church of Christ. He preached until retiring at the end of 1993. He was a gentle; caring man who loved to tell jokes to make you laugh. Everyone loved him. He brought so much joy to so many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Still Wyatt; his son, Steven (Karen) Wyatt of Newberry; a grandson, Cory (Amanda) Mack of Newberry; sisters, Katherine (Gino) Giannotta of Florida; Lorraine Bowman of Florida; Irene C. Blondheim of Maryland, sister-in-law, Thelma Still of Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews. We also would like to recognize his long time friend of 68 years, Bob (Florence) Cogan of California.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.
