Final Salute

Perry LeRoy Gelnett, 79, DuBois, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born June 30, 1945, in DuBois, a son of the late George, Sr. and Anna Marie (Salada) Gelnett. He married Darla Ann (Miller) Gelnett. She survives in DuBois.

In addition to his wife, Perry also leaves behind a daughter, Courtney Gelnett of Reynoldsville, and a son, Jonathan Gelnett, and a brother, Cecil Gelnett.

Perry graduated from DuBois High School. He had 23 years of service with the U.S. Navy Seabees, having served three tours during Vietnam and achieving Seabee Chief rank before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, old cars and fixing things. He worked most of his life as a diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Beth Ann Gelnett, sister, Doris Kirk, and brother, George, Jr.
