Marion Smith O’Dell Obituary
April 11, 1932 – May 17, 2019

Marion Smith O’Dell, 87, was born on April 11, 1932, to Harry and Bertha Smith O’Dell in Parkersburg, WV, and passed away on May 17, 2019, in Crossville.

He spent 32 years defending our country in the Navy SeaBees as a chief petty officer, six years in the Reserves, and 10 years as a production supervisor for GM.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, traveling with his wife, gardening and tinkering with his tools in the garage.

He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Mays (Bobby) and Brenda Norris (Billy); grandson, Bobby W. Mays II (Teresia); and great-grandchildren, Mallorie Mays, Brennan Moore and Kerigan Elkins; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 39 years, Nora O’Dell; grandson, Jason Dallas Moore; and siblings, Harry Duling O’Dell (Edith), Orville Harrison O’Dell (Clara), Floyd O’Dell, Virginia O’Dell Duckworth (Clyde) and Dorothy O’Dell Sams (Paul).

The family will receive friends on May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with service to follow. Bro. Billy Norris will officiate and burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.
