Gregory M. Pastoric, age 76, of Newbury, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024. Greg is the son of the late Marion “Pat” Pastoric and Evelyn (nee Leskovec) Pastoric and was born on March 27, 1948. In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by a brother, James Pastoric.

Greg is remembered lovingly by his wife Sarina Pastoric (nee Liotta); brothers Thomas Pastoric (Jeanne Lukanc) and Raymond Pastoric (Toni Phillips); many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966 and after graduation joined the Navy Seabees. He honorably served during Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 where he managed a forklift shop. During his time in Vietnam, he managed to build a slingshot motorcycle and developed his passion to be a mechanic.

After returning home, he was employed by Allis Chamlers as a forklift mechanic. He married Sarina, his high school sweetheart, in 1972. They were together for 60 years, married for 52. In 1972, he purchased a Mac Tool truck and sold Mac and Matco Tools until he became the district manager for Matco in 1982. He sold Bear Automotive Equipment from 1985 until 1990. In 1990, Greg and a partner opened Cars of the Past Restorations, Inc., which eventually became Cars Autobody and Service until Greg retired in 2013.

In the 1970s, Greg co owned and drove a Corvette in the IMSA Camel GT Series. He was often found road racing at numerous tracks including Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Talladega Superspeedway.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:30-11:30 am at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home located at 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland. Memorial service will immediately follow at 11:30 am. Greg will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery following the Funeral Home services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers.
