Michael Edward Grennell, age 36, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Paden City, WV passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at his home in California.
Michael was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was born November 12, 1984, in New Martinsville, WV son of Thomas Daniel Grennell III and Terri Rowland.
Michael was Christian by faith and liked to travel, cook, hunt, fish, camp and work on cars.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jack Coogan Rowland who was a Navy Seabee and served in WWII & Korea; paternal grandfather, Thomas Grennell Jr. who was a U.S. Marine and sister Megan Beegle, daughter of Vic Beegle & Terri Beegle
Survivors include his parents; Thomas Daniel (Debbie Cook) Grennell III of Langeloth, PA and Terri Rowland of New Martinsville, WV; son Jacob Edward Grennell of Virginia Beach, VA; mother of his son, TJ Meltesen, U.S. Seabee Veteran of Virginia Beach, VA; step-father Vic Beegle of Paden City, siblings; Misty Beegle and Shawn Beegle, both of New Martinsville, WV, Nichole Beegle Utt, of Paden City, WV Stepfanie Grennell Davis of Charleroi, PA; maternal grandmother, Carol Smith Bassett, maternal grandfather, Lloyd Bassett Jr. , Ret. Navy DAV, of Paden City, WV; Uncle, Jack L. Rowland, Army, of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Uncle Robert (Bo) L. Bassett, Army, of Sistersville, WV; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and military brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends on Monday July, 5, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Paden Memorial Garden New Martinsville, WV with military honors.
