Donald Malone Scarborough Jr., 71, of Sorrento, Florida passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Donald relocated to Central Florida in 2022 from Rayville, Louisiana.

A dedicated serviceman, Donald proudly served his country as a Petty Officer 1st Class in the United States Navy during Desert Storm and also fulfilled a distinguished role in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; Donald was an active member of Reach Church in Sorrento, where he contributed his musical talents to the worship band and served as a deacon. He was involved with the Shriners and embraced the role of a Shriner clown, always bringing joy to those around him. A committed member of the Masonic Lodge, he achieved the rank of 32nd Degree Mason and was also active with the VFW, where he served as a past Commander.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Nellie Scarborough, along with his four sons: Neal Cockrell, Donald (Shawna) Malone Scarborough, III, Buddy Cassels, and Jessi “Tator” Cockrell; three daughters: Tina (Benny Ray) Andrews, Traci (Chris) Sepsey, and Pam (Tim) Fisher; and three brothers and a sister: Mike (Gwen) Scarborough, Billy (Lesa) Scarborough, Bucky (Polly) Scarborough, and Patty Brown. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy of 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who will fondly remember his love and guidance.

A funeral service will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. The family welcomes friends for visitation beginning at 10 am with a service following at 11. There will be a burial service on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims. Please arrive at the cemetery by 1:00 pm.
