CM James A. Nelson

CM

Date of birth 08/24/1944
Date of passing 02/03/2025

James A Nelson (Jimmy) of Minnetonka, proudly served as a Seabees mechanic in the United States Navy and continued his passion and skills later on in life as a career and as a hobby. There wasn’t a piece of equipment he couldn’t fix, even ones as stubborn as he was at times. He found great joy in celebrating life’s highs and lows with the people he grew fond of over the years, many of which were bonds formed at the Boneshaker Bar some years ago. James has been reunited with his mother (Rose), many of his navy brothers, Sharon, and his beloved dogs, after passing peacefully and painlessly in his home the morning of February 3rd, 2025. On behalf of Jimmy, we would like to say thank you to Erin, Rebecca, and all who were involved from Park Nicolet hospice. The personal and “on the spot” care Jimmy received was invaluable. To Kim from Assisting Hands Mtka, who rose above and beyond all expectations, you truly became a part of the family. We will love you always. Last, but not least, thank you to the Mpls V.A hospital for all the care and aid you provided to Jimmy over the last 20+ years. A celebration in honor of Jimmy will be held this summer, to be announced around May, or as Jimmy would say “Wait a while”…
