Lieutenant
Charles “Kent” Conder Jr. DMD, aged 64, was called home by his Heavenly Father on November 13, 2024, in Louisville, KY. He passed away surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Kent grew up in the south side of Louisville in the Lynnview subdivision. He was a proud alumnus of St. Xavier High School ( ’78), Bellarmine University and UofL Dental School (’92). After graduating dental school, he attended Officer Indoctrination School (OIS), in Rhode Island and General Practice Residency at the Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, IL. He proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 (Navy Seabees) as their battalion dentist, head-quartered in Gulfport, MS. During his years serving (’92-96), he was deployed to both Guam and Rota, Spain.
Kent worked hard and played hard. He spent his life serving his community as a general dentist at North Bullitt Family Dental, a practice he built with his business partner of 27 years, Kevin Meunier. He was the ultimate family man and girl dad who loved traveling, SCUBA diving, water sports, music, horse racing, UofL sports and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, MaryLynn Archangel-Conder, and daughters Evan, Maria, and Olivia Conder, his mother, Gayle Peterson, and his aunt Sherry Carter (Kevin). Kent was preceded in death by his father, Charles K. “Duck” Conder Sr., step-father Grant “Pete” Peterson, and grandparents Mary O. and William R. Conder, and Norma and Ervin Blackerby.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday Dec. 7th from 12-5pm at Lake Forest Country Club, 14000 Landmark Dr, Louisville, KY 40245. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Joseph’s Home, an organization close to his heart. Feel free to reach out to his daughter Evan at 502-648-3597.
