Frank Messer, age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 23, 2021 from natural causes.
Frank was born into this world an orphan on April 17th, 1931, after losing both parents to tuberculosis. He was raised by the Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA. He lived a long fulfilling life, always striving to help others. He served our great nation for 22 1/2 years as a PROUD Navy SeaBee, with one tour in Korea and two in Vietnam. He retired to travel with the love of his life, Peggy Messer. They were happily married for nearly 39 years. Through their marriage, he was blessed with a large family that he was eternally grateful for.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Messer, daughter Belinda Johnson (Jeffrey), son Tracy Casias (Debbie) and grandkids Matthew Torres (Annie), April Torres, Jennilee Byington (Justin), Crystal Casias, Isaac Torres, Justin Johnson (Vanessa), Brittney Hilliard (Ian), Austin Casias (Kelly) and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Laura Mae Copeland Messer, brothers Samuel and LC Messer and in-laws Lee and Dorothy McConnelly, Joyce and John Worthington.
We will have a service at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors at 1 pm on Monday, February 1st, 2021.
