Robert Fredrick Scheele was born December 24, 1946 to Jean (Schroeder) and Paul Scheele in Colorado Springs, CO. He passed from this life on December 26, 2020 at the age of 74 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Robert grew up in Monument and Peyton, Colorado and graduated from Peyton High School in the class of 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a SeaBee in Vietnam and for one year on Midway Island. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to Peyton and began working for the El Paso County Department of Transportation. He worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator.
On June 28, 1975, Robert married Linda Cumming in Colorado Springs and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Robert had a passion for the outdoors. He loved camping and fishing in the mountains of Colorado, especially in the Glenwood Springs area. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Robert was known as a man of integrity and always kept his promises. He would often drop everything to go and help someone that was in need.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Jean Scheele, his brother Paul Scheele, and his niece Laura Fuchs.
He is survived by his wife Linda Scheele; daughter Sara Ward and her husband Eric of Ardmore; brother Richard Scheele of Hillsboro, Kansas; sister Kathy Fuchs of Peyton; granddaughters Keira and Maya Ward; and nephews Les Fuchs, Lynn Fuchs, Adam Scheele, Michael Scheele, and Eric Scheele.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
