Clair M. “Russ” Goodman, 53, of 101 Heisey Road, Annville, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 in Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was the loving companion of Helen Long.
Born in Lebanon, on July 2, 1952, he was the son of Evelyn E. Fasnacht Goodman Heisey of Palmyra and the late Clair M. Goodman, Sr.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam and also served with the U.S. Air Force.
Russ became disabled in 1982 due to a motor vehicle accident, but there was nothing that prevented him from living life to the fullest.
In addition to his family, his support system consisted of his many friends. Prior to becoming disabled he was employed as a masonry worker and was a 1970 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School. He was a member of the Annville United Methodist Church, the National Rifle Association, PA Disabled Sportsman’s Association, the Physically Challenged Bow Hunter’s of America, Ft. Indiantown Gap Conservation Club, and the Navy Club of the United States of America. He was an avid hunter and football fan.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his two sisters, Patricia E. G., wife of Karl Beardsley of New Cumberland and Sally, wife of George Carl of Annville; two nephews, Anthony Goodman and David Goodman-Hlavaty; three step-sons, Kevin Long and wife, Tracy of Annville, Travis Long and wife, Kelly of Hershey, and Justin Long of Annville; five step-grandchildren, Devin and Sierra Long and Austin, Melanie, and Audrey Long.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., from the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Military Honors. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m., and also on Wednesday from 9:30- 10:30 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
