Matthew Hiram Fricke, 62, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at his home.
Memorial services for Matthew will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Matthew Fricke was born on November 3, 1962 in Charles City, Iowa. He was the son of Richard Fricke and Marilyn (Vileta) Hicks. Matthew served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a Seabee, and also obtained his degree in Telecommunications while in the Navy. Matthew was united in marriage to Lisa Naughton in 1981 and then was remarried to Michelle Monroe in 1989. Matthew had worked for several different telecommunications companies in his career. He enjoyed football, fishing and bowling. Matthew also enjoyed shooting, pheasant hunting and riding his motorcycle.
Matthew is survived by his children: Kristen (Matt) Morgan of Marshalltown, Jacob Fricke of South Carolina, Elizabeth Fricke of Ohio and Quinn (Jennifer) Fricke of Marshalltown. Mother: Marilyn Hicks. Grandchildren: Lucas Morgan, Devin Morgan, Brooke Morgan, Trinity Fuller, Nick Fuller and one grandson on the way (Marcus). Great grandchildren: Doris, Elias and Mason. Siblings: Michael (Laura) Fricke, Morris (Cindy) Fricke, Mitchell (DeeDee) Fricke, David (Alyson) Hicks, Mark (Trish) Fricke, Michelle (Joe) Curphy, Marsha (Jay) Bruster, Marlene (Adam) Current, Martin Fricke, Melinda Fricke and Marvin (Rose) Fricke. Matthew is also survived by his step-mother Roberta Fricke and close friend: Lyna Bru along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Matthew is preceded in death by his sisters: Melissa and Leona; father: Richard Fricke, step-father: Dale Hicks and his Paternal and Maternal grandparents and Aunts and Uncles.
