David P. Lang, Sr.

David P. Lang, Sr., age 79, of Liberty Borough, died March 8, 2019, at UPMC McKeesport.

Born November 8, 1939, in Aliquippa, PA, he was the son of the late, Lesley Park and Ethel (Coleman) Lang and the husband of Gwen (Hardesty) Lang, for over 53 years.

David retired from US Steel Irvin Works and prior to that, he worked at US Steel Duquesne Works. He was a US Navy Seabee Reservist and prior to that, he was US Army veteran, serving during peacetime in Korea.

David was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church of Liberty Borough. He enjoyed bowling in his early years and working crossword puzzles as of late. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son, David P. Lang, Jr., of Columbus, OH; sisters, Leslie Guardino of Etna, PA and Ruth Hoak of Liberty Borough; also many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Nick, Gary and Linda Wiggins.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.
