Date of passing 03/23/2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of lifetime Everett resident, Thomas M. (Tom) Rodgers who died in his home on March 23, at age 73. Tom was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Everett and a 1967 graduate of Everett High School. He also was a graduate of the University of Washington, earning bachelor’s degrees in engineering and economics as well as a master’s degree in engineering. After college, he served with distinction as an officer in the US Navy Construction Battalions (Seabees), in both the United States and abroad, including the Philippines where he met his wife, Editha. After active military service, Tom continued until retirement in the US Navy reserves and worked as a construction manager in both private and public sector projects, including for the US Federal Emergency Management Agency and the City of Everett. Tom was a frequent visitor of the local YMCA, where he met many friends whom he remained in contact with. He was the best dog sitter and loved giving treats to dogs he met. Tom’s sense of humor and long winded explanations will be missed. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Robert and Cleo Rodgers and sister Nancy Rodgers Sanders. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Ethel, son Robert (Bobby) and daughter-in-law Magdalia; daughter Angel and son-in-law Nate; sister Susan Rodgers; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Please reach out to Tom’s phone for questions about his celebration of life details. March 23, 2022
