Anthony Edward ‘Tony’ Corcoran, 78, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, in Ottawa, Kansas.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday May 7, 2020, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. In order to comply with Covid-19 precautions there will be only 10 people allowed in the funeral home at a time during the visitation. He was born Sept. 6, 1941, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Thomas Lawrence Corcoran and Mildred Irene (Galloway) Corcoran. Tony grew up in Ottawa, Kansas, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1959.

Tony attended and graduated from Kansas University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and later he earned a Master of Science from the University of Texas in Petroleum Engineering.

Tony served his country proudly in the United States Navy from June of 1965 until October of 1985. During his 20-year career he earned the Navy commendation Medal with Combat V, meritorious unit citation, Vietnam service medal, Republic of Vietnam service medal, Antarctica service medal with winter over device, sea service deployment ribbon, national defense medal, humanitarian service medal. Tony achieved the rank of Commander.

Tony is survived by a sister-in-law, Penny Corcoran, Ottawa; two nephews and a niece, Tom Corcoran, Tim Corcoran and his wife, Linda; Teresa Falls and her husband, Mark, all of Ottawa; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Corcoran.
