Cary “Ozzie” Osborne, 76, of Elkhart passed away peacefully from complications of old age on Oct. 1, 2025.
A graduate of Elkhart High School in 1967, he enlisted in the U.S Navy and became a hospital corpsman and later re-enlisted into the Navy reserve and served with the 26th Battalion Seabees. He also had a long career with the post office, delivering R.F.D mail routes in Goshen, Topeka and Elkhart, for over 40 years. In 1978 he was a co-founder of Lexington Glass Works and Green Block Restoration Project, which continues today. The past 20 years he built “one of a kind” lamps from antique parts. Cary was a lifelong Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Osborne; daughters, Sara and Mackenzie; and a son, Justin. He was a grandfather to Savannah, Noelle, Jude, John, Jaxen, Cora and MacRiley. He is also survived by his brothers, David and Douglas and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his long-time business partners, Tim Seiracki and Lee Hawkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Osborne and Donna (Copher) Osborne.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ellwood’s Green Block Lager and Ale Room, 115 E. Lexington in Elkhart, Indiana. Billings Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
