Final Salute

Michael C. (Mike) Proc 73, of Barnstable passed peacefully at home on May 18TH surrounded by family.
Mike proudly served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy Unit MCB1 during 1967-70 with time spent building bridges, hangers and barracks in Vietnam. He returned to complete 32 years with the Town of Barnstable Highway Dept transferring to the Landfill to become a Heavy Equipment Operator, and back again to become a Foreman. To keep busy after retirement he worked at Stop & Shop in Hyannis and at Resource Recovery (Casella Waste Services) in Sandwich.
Mike leaves behind the ‘Love of His Life’ wife, Cindy; 2 daughters Vanessa Proc of Barnstable and Jennifer (Paul) Berger of Yarmouthport along with his Granddaughter Harley Berger and a son, David Proc of Hyannis.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, May 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00 AM at Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Hyannis VA Clinic as we owe them gratitude for the wonderful healthcare Mike received over several years.
