William Norbert Beauvais
September 27, 1944 – November 28, 2020

William N. “Bill” Beauvais is at peace after a long and courageous battle with IPF due to chemical exposure during his military duty in Vietnam. His loving family surrounded him during his transition.
He was born September 27th, 1944 to Norbert and Lucille (Provencher) Beauvais in Burlington, Vermont. He graduated from Burlington High School and joined the Navy as a Seabee MCB40. He married and is survived by the love of his life, Darla (Baker) Beauvais and happily married for 54 years. They lived in Burlington, Vermont and retired to Sebastian, Florida in 1998.
Bill retired from IBM, Essex Junction, Vermont after 25 years of employment. He took leave from his employment to serve in Vietnam. He was popularly known as a co-owner of Crispy Onion Rings for 25 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to owning Billy Beau’s Food Express located at Ben & Jerry’s Waterbury, Vermont plant and later in Mesa Park, Florida. He officially retired from working as a facility manager at Faux Effects International, Vero Beach and Fort Pierce. He enjoyed traveling, cruises, wood working, crafting heirloom steamer trunks for family members and guitar playing. Known for his humor, he was once offered twenty dollars to stop playing and humorously accepted.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post 189 in Sebastian, Florida.
Survived by his loving wife Darla, two daughters, Trina (Jason) Stockbridge of Vero Beach, Florida and Trudi (Eric) Guillette, of Channahon, Illinois, his sister Jane (Tim) Montgomery of East Fairfield, Vermont and brother in law John Chance of Sebastian, Florida. He was proud of his 5 grandchildren, Hadley and William Abe Chamberlain, Anna and Madison Guillette and Lily Stockbridge, and many nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by his sister Joyce (Bob) Chacon, brother Richard Beauvais, sister Ann Lessard and sister Sandra Chance.
A private ceremony with the American Legion will honor his military service. Interment will take place at a later date at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his name to the American Legion Post 189, 807 Louisiana Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958 or the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, 6230 77th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32967.
