Michael Duane Buckner, 77 of Marysville, WA passed away peacefully at his home on March 25, 2022 surrounded by family and friends, Mike was born in Everett, WA on March 3, 1945 to mother Etta Walker-Foote. Mike spent his early years in Everett and then moved to Wheatland Wyoming. He returned to Everett in 1961 and graduated from Everett High School in 1964. After high school Mike joined the U.S. Navy (CB’s) and served a tour of duty in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge in 1968. Mike worked at Western Gear Corporation for 19 years as a material/tool handler as a member of the Western Metals Union and later at the Boeing Company Everett Division for 15 years. Mike had many interests and passions. He enjoyed gardening and puttering in the yard. He spent many hours at local nurseries searching for the the perfect new addition. Mike also enjoyed bicycle riding (Ride for sight- a ride from Everett to Jackson Hole Wyoming for the Lions Eye Center.) He enjoyed mountaineering and hiking -(Climbing several of Washington’s Major Peaks). He enjoyed deer hunting, coaching both his sons soccer teams, and playing on several soccer teams himself, bird watching walking and camping at his lake front property in Eastern Washington. He and Bonnie were also avid music concert goers. It was not unusual for them to travel to other states to see there signature group “The Moody Blues”.

Mike is survived by his wife Bonnie of 51 years, sons Michael Jr. and Matthew and grand daughter Paris, Also sister Roxann Haugstad, brother Brad Buckner, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts.

He was preceded in death by his mother Etta Walker-Foote and brother Roy Buckner and grand parents John and Della Walker.

A celebration of Mikes life will be held at Normana Hall (Sons of Norway) 2725 Oakes Ave Everett, WA on Saturday May 21st 2022 1pm to 4pm. Memorial donations may be made in Micheal Duane Buckner’s name to American Cancer Society, Providence Hospice, Audubon Society or a charity of your choice.
You will be missed.
