Ronald L. Zakeosian Obituary
Ronald L. Zakeosian, formerly of Hilltown Twp., passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown, PA. He was 82.
He was the husband of the late Nancy J. (Hartzell) Zakeosian, who passed away on March 11, 2013.
Born in Quakertown, PA, he was the son of the late Marshall and Catherine (Leakan) Zakeosian. He was a 1954 graduate of Quakertown High School.
After graduating high school, Ron joined the U.S. Navy and spent the next 42 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve Mobile Construction Battalion 21, Allentown, PA and Lakehurst, NJ, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association (NERA) and the Naval Pistol League. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 287, Milroy, PA.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union, Local 1595, Philadelphia, PA for 56 years. As a carpenter he worked for E. C. Durrell Co., Princeton, NJ, for 18 years, retiring in 1996.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and target shooting and was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society.
He was a former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 51, Hilltown and Troop 1 in Sellersville as well as a Cub Scout Den Leader.
He is survived by three children, Tanya A. Z. Snyder and her husband James, of Sellersville, PA, Michael A. Zakeosian and his wife Elizabeth, of Prescott, AZ and Matthew A. Zakeosian and his girlfriend Jennifer Horner, of Silverdale, PA; five grandchildren, Erin Snyder, Corey Zakeosian and his companion Kate, Chelsea Zakeosian, Christian Bleiler and his wife Alisha and Samantha Johnson; three great grandchildren, Dylon, Isabelle and Roslyn.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig M. Zakeosian in 2000.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM or Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) Scholarship Fund, 215 Cowboy Way, Edgewood, NM 87015.
