Final Salute

Russell F. Bildner, age 89, passed away on February 24, 2022. He was born in Hillsdale, Michigan and was a resident of Destrehan, Louisiana.
He was the son of the late Harold William Bildner and Laura Bildner. Russell was a graduate of Hillsdale High School, after he then joined the CBU Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Once retired from the military he began employment with Reily Foods as a plant engineer until his retirement with them. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0366, Destrehan, Louisiana, he enjoyed cruises and casinos with his wife and loved fishing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Bildner to whom he married in 1953. Beloved father of Steven Bildner (Teresa), Mark Bildner (Alice), Kenny Bildner (Kim) and the late Michael and Ronald Bildner. Adored grandfather of Kyle, Courtney, Brittney, Matthew, Brooke and Gina, along with 10 great grandchildren. Brother of Rebecca Smotherman, Gerald and Gary “Butch” Bildner. Also survived by many of his Vietnam Seabees Veterans.
