Final Salute

Joseph C Leo. November 23, 1950 (age 70) to September 23, 2021.

Joe was born in Elizabeth, NJ, grew up in Roselle Park, NJ and graduated from Roselle Park High class of 1968.

He enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Seabee in Viet Nam, Midway Island and in the Philippines. Reenlisted in Naval Reserves, retired, after 20+ years, at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of The Last Patrol, a group of veterans that walked from Washington DC to New Jersey carrying etching of names of NJ service members taken from the memorial in DC to the memorial being created in NJ.

He retired from PSE&G as a Revenue Protection Investigator and remained active lecturing on gas meters. He lived in Union, NJ for most of his adult life and retired to Greenbriar Oceanaire Community in Waretown, NJ. He was active in his community and enjoyed attending veterans reunions. He owned race horses, enjoyed golf, using social media, visiting with family and friends and participating in American Legion and other local veterans’ chapters.

Preceded in death by his parents Tony and Lucy Leo, his brother Michael Leo. Survived by his brothers, James and Anthony Leo and their families.
