He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Sylvio Dalpe and Helen Dalpe (Marchand); his brothers, Donald, Raymond and Roland; his children, Robert (Denise Dalpe), Elaine Hewitt, Jeannine Shapleigh, Diane (Stephen Finnegan), Patricia (Gerald Martin) and Mark (Sally Dalpe); his grandchildren, Jennifer Kelson, Heather Woods, Brian Cabral, Jason Cabral, Lynn Weidman, Shawn Finnegan, Stephen Finnegan Jr., Corey Finnegan, Nicole Finnegan, Jillian Marzakis, Megan Girard, William Alden, Ryan Martin, Kerri Martin, Allisa Dalpe and Marcus Dalpe; and his great grandchildren, Colby, Ash Lindner, Luke Weidman, Nicholas, Avery Marzakis, Delaney, Ava, Declan Finnegan and Aiden Alden.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10th 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapman Funerals and Cremations – Falmouth (475 Main St, Falmouth, MA 02540). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10th 2023 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Fern enlisted in the Navy on March 26, 1952 and discharged on March 13, 1956. He was in the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Six. He remained an active member of the CEC/SEABEE Historical Foundation.
