Robert “Bob” Digue, 74, of Traverse City, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
Bob suffered a stroke four years ago, had COPD and fought very courageously to the end.
Bob was born on Dec. 7, 1945, in Wyandotte, to the late Joseph and Jean (Radcliffe) Digue.
He married his high school sweetheart, Diane “Dee” Varga on March 21, 1968, in Detroit.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam with NMCB-58 from 1966 to1968.
Bob was employed as a sheet metal journeyman for 35 years, working all over the state.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking rides in the woods.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dee; son, Douglas (Sheryl) Digue; and daughter, Wendy (Larry) Boyle.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Samantha (Nino Tannahill) Digue, Kaitlyn (Bailey) Rumschlag, Connor Boyle, Quinn Boyle, Cooper Boyle and Casey Boyle; brother, Dave (Bobbie) Digue; and sister-in-law, Ellen Digue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Digue.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
