STILLWATER – Richard “Dick” Frank, 79 of County Road 76, died Tuesday morning, June 20, 2023, following an extended illness.
Born in Fort Myers, Fla., he was the son of the late Paul and Venetta Corbin Frank. Dick entered the U.S. Navy Seabees in 1964, serving as a third petty officer builder prior to his discharge in 1966.
A carpenter all his life, Dick was known as a “jack of all trades.” He worked for a number of companies before finishing his career, serving as the building manager for a multi-level building on State Street in Albany for 14 years. Woodworking was a hobby, as was fishing and hunting; he also helped create Rensselaer Bottle Club. A faithful member and former trustee for Grafton Baptist Church, Dick was involved in many ministries within the church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bonnie M. Baker Frank; two sons, Dean Richard (Jennifer) Frank of Buskirk and Darryl James Frank of Stillwater; grandson, Tyler Rakstis; sister, Christina (Wayne) Schillinger; sister-in-law, Patricia Frank; brother-in-law, Barry Baker; aunt, Janet Frank of Maryland, along with nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Paul and James Frank; and in-laws, Terry Baker and Sherry Hagadorn.
A burial service with military honors is set for Tuesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. in the Saratoga National Cemetery. Anyone who would like to attend is asked to arrive at the cemetery entrance by 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either the Grafton Baptist Church or an animal shelter of one’s choice in respectful memory of Richard G. Frank.
