Final Salute

Alan “Doug” Blessing, 75, of Palatka, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 18, 2024.
Doug was born on Oct. 7, 1949, in Lake Worth, FL. As a young man, Doug was in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Sea Bee. He spent his early years in Lake Park, FL and raised his family in Jupiter FL. For many years, Doug owned and operated Blessing’s Market in WPB, FL, before retiring to Palatka, FL.
Doug was often referred to as a “Tough S.O.B.” by his friends, a testament to his resilience, and strength of character. A lover of the outdoors, Doug found peace and joy in hunting and fishing, where he made lifelong friendships. Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Blessing; his sons, Adam Blessing, and Chad Blessing; his grandchildren, Hunter (Courtney), Parker, and Skyler; and his great-grandson, Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you raise a glass and share a memory.
