Littlefield, Richard Raymond
81, of Wentzville, MO passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at his home in Wentzville with his family. He was a graduate of Fairview High School, School of the Ozarks, and Drury College, in Springfield, MO. He was married to his college sweetheart, Carol Littlefield, nee Stewart, for 59 years.
He served his Country as a Navy Seabee in the Vietnam War as a builder and received an Honorable discharge as a Petty Officer Second Class in 1967. Richard was a High School Science Teacher for 42 years. He was a devoted member of Faith United Church of Christ in Wentzville, an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4561, in New Melle, an active member of the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard, participating as a rifleman at funerals. Richard was raised to the Third Degree of Free Masonry as a Master Mason at Mason Lodge #46 in Wentzville, MO. He was dedicated to helping those in need as a worker at the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry.
Richard was a great steward of education and the environment! He truly appreciated nature and its beauty, and wanted to teach anyone he could about respecting it. He loved gardening, fishing, and hunting, reading and writing.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lansing and Hazel Littlefield, and his parents-in-law, Robert and Jane Stewart: two sisters, Ilene Frazier and Brenda Meador: two brothers, Clifford Littlefield, and Harold Littlefield. He is survived by is wife Carol, his son Richard and wife Sherisa of Apple Valley, MN; and two daughters, Penelope and husband Bryan Myrick of Peoria, AZ and Jennifer and husband John of Wentzville, MO and two sisters, Peggy Clarkson of Wheaton, MO and Connie and husband Larry Roberts of Neosho, MO. Also two brothers-in-law, John Stewart and wife Terri of St. Louis and James Stewart and his wife Angie of Richmond, MO. He and Carol also have five grandchildren Duston Littlefield (Micah), Briary Rime (Cory), Daniel Beckmann, Kelsey Buford and Haskel Buford (Rachel) and four great-grandchildren.
Richard was proud to have served his country and was a true patriot.
Services: Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, November 30, 10:00 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 29, from 2:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Pkwy, Wentzville, MO 63385. Interment following the funeral service at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wentzville Lodge #46 Scholarship Fund/Trade.
