Gregory H. Tabangcura Sr. Obituary
Gregory H. Tabangcura Sr., 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday.
Born in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur Philippines, he was a longtime resident of Pearl City, Hawaii and a resident of Vallejo for 24 years.
He was preceded in death by his sister Cerila and survived by Librada, his wife of 43 years; daughter Lee Ann of Vallejo; eldest son Gregory Jr. and daughter-in-law Tracy of Cupertino; youngest son Glen of Vallejo, grandson Nicholas, granddaughter Ciara, sister Lorreta and brother-in-law Filemon of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and sister Charing of the Philippines.
Greg Sr. was a civil servant for 29 years working both at Pearl Harbor and Mare Island Naval Shipyards in the Ocean Engineering Department. Retired from the federal government in 1996, he also worked for Vallejo Nissan and was also a part-time Realtor and travel agent. He served in the U.S. Navy Fighting Seabees in Iraq during the first Gulf War.
He was an active member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church serving on the Knights of Columbus.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo, with a Rosary prayer at 7 p.m. Thursday. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent Ferrer, with burial to follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
