Thomas K. Kramer, 91of Union, New Jersey, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Thomas was born on October 22, 1934 to his parents Joseph and Mary Kramer and raised in Mountainside, NJ. He graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in 1952. After graduation, Thomas joined the Navy Reserve.
Thomas met his true love, Anna “Dolly” Nizolak, after his aunt invited her to his 21st birthday party in 1955. They courted and were married in 1958 and moved to Union, NJ where they raised their three children, Cathy, Michael and Kimberly. They were married for 68 years.
In 1957, he went on active duty and served 2 years in North Africa as a Seabee with the 13th Black Cats Unit. Thomas retired from the Navy Reserve after 30 years of service. He worked as a Carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Unit #1345. Thomas was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1985, became a 4th degree Knight in 1986 and served as Color Guard Assembly Commander.
Thomas loved his family and enjoyed spending summers with them at Otter Lake Campground where he worked as a security guard. He loved the outdoors, fishing, his train collection and his dogs.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Anna “Dolly” Kramer, and his son-in-law Nicholas Dorando.
He is survived by his daughter Cathy Dorando, his son Michael Kramer and wife Jacqueline, and daughter Kimberly Little and husband Jim; his grandchildren, Sarah Kramer and wife Marlys, Jessica Lenahan and husband Robert, Nicholas Dorando and wife Kelsey, Jillian Little-Gonzalez and wife Abby, Thomas Little and his great-granddaughter Chloe Anne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. at Union Funeral Home – Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ. Services begin on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Rd, Union, followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
