Final Salute

Larry C. Wilbur, 81, passed away on April 10, 2026 at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn , with his wife by his side.

Larry was born on July 7, 1944 in Waltham, Massachusetts, the son of the late Ewrin (Larry) and Lorraine (White) Wilbur. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy , proudly serving 21 years as a Navy Seabee.

After retiring from the Navy, he moved his family to Kingfield, Maine , later he moved to New Portland and finally Starks to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving daughter, Debbie as well as his parents, Erwin and Lorraine.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing , snowmobiling and cookouts with his family. He always looked forward to the “Safety Meetings” with the guys. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching his love of carpentry to anyone who wanted to learn.

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Wilbur, three children, April Thomas, Christopher Brant and Angela Brant, as well as five grandchildren, Michael Rose (Julie) , Nathan Thomas, Kyle McCarthy, Tanner Drouin and Ethan Brant, and two great grandchildren Isaac and Zoey.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Sunnyside Cemetery in Kingfield.
