John F. Carrier, age 78 of Brick, passed away on June 1, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
John was born in Jersey City and lived in Hoboken before moving to Brick in 2007.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and continued to serve with the Naval Reserves. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Jersey City College.
John retired as an Inspector with the Hoboken Police Department; where he was referred to as Gentleman John.
John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 46, and the Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 600. He enjoyed fluke fishing on the Gambler with his wife Linda, cousin Tony and many other good friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Rose (Bucino) Carrier.
John is survived by his loving wife Linda (Clarity) Carrier, cousins, Patricia Bucino, Michael Bucino, Anthony Vitale and many more wonderful cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Wednesday June 7, 2023 from 4-8pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick, NJ 08724. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2023, 10am at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Francis Church, 308 Jefferson St., Hoboken, NJ 07030.
