The National Park Service preserves, unimpaired, the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.
Independence National Historical Park is located in the Nation's sixth largest city, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is the city's primary historic visitor attraction. The park's annual visitation averages just over 5 million people. The park routinely hosts national and international elected and appointed officials and other high-profile guests, and is the venue for large public events including Freedom Week celebrating the birth of the nation each July.
